Namecheap email and websites go down with under maintenance notice

The web hosting and domain name registrar Namecheap went offline with an unscheduled maintenance notice appearing on all pages of the website and online service. The email services offered by Namecheap were also reported to be offline.

@Namecheap I noticed your website says it's under maintenance, but Private e-mail is down too.
I've got clients to respond to but can' access e-mail.

Users that tried to access Namecheap.com on Tuesday were met with the following message:

Namecheap.com is under maintenance and will be back soon

It seems all Namecheap services were offline for quite some time under the unscheduled maintenance during peak-business hours.

I know that, of course I've already visited that page. I'm just asking why is the email service down? "We're currently undergoing maintenance to make your https://t.co/RaT1lFdRBW experience even better."
This does not answer my question. Not even an ETA, so something out of your

Customers who wished to register domains were unable to register them.

@Namecheap how long till maintenance is over? was just ready to do some shopping for business domains, but looks like search functionality is down!
